Mr. P. Neelakannan is the COO of India operations of Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences, Trivandrum. He graduated in Commerce from Bharathidasan University, Trichy and did his Masters in Hospital Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. Mr. Neel did his MBA from Annamali University, Chidambaram specializing in Finance and Marketing.
He entered into the healthcare industry in 1991 and continuing in the same industry till today. Mr. Neel started his career with a 100 bed single specialty hospital. After a brief stint as an Administrator he moved to a 350 bed hospital for a Marketing profile. In the same institute he served for almost seven years and was promoted as the Director of PR and Healthcare Promotion. In search of knowledge and understanding of various geography, Mr. Neel joined the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital at Calicut, Kerala as Head of PR and Relations.
In the year 2005, Mr. Neel joined as General Manager Operations at Vasan Eye Care Hospital group and was instrumental in starting six new centers in Kerala. In the year 2007, he joined one of the leading hospital chains Wockhardt Hospitals group as Regional Head Operations where he was taking care of six hospitals in three states providing operational support and business development activities. In the year 2011, Mr. Neel got an opportunity to come back to his hometown, Coimbatore and joined as Senior Vice President of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital. He has been highly successful and is a performance driven healthcare management professional with over 20 years of multicultural experience of notable success in executing strategic projects and programs in advancement of organizational frame work. Notable success in Operations, Business Development initiatives, Marketing, Physicians relations, HR, strategic planning and hospital support services.
Mr.Neel has also travelled across the country and been a part of various Healthcare establishments which has helped him to acquire wide range of knowledge in the Healthcare Industry. He is a member of many Healthcare Associations and invited speaker in many forums.
