Dr. Vishal Rao is currently the Regional Director of Head Neck Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgery; and Associate Dean, Research & Academics at Healthcare Global Cancer Centre in Bengaluru.
He is a TED X speaker and has more than18 patents filed for his innovations on medical devices, drugs, techniques and theories. He is a member of the consultative group of Principal Scientific Advisor, Govt. of India; and Member of High Powered Committee on Tobacco and Cancer Control, Govt. Of Karnataka.
He is currently the Editor of Journal of Precision Oncology.
Dr Vishal has been conferred the Honorary FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow. He has also been a recipient of Kempegowda Award - the highest civil award conferred by the Bengaluru Corporation; and the Kannadiga of the Year Award 2018.
